Mercer Island This Week: Mostly Music in the Park Kicks Off, Macbeth Continues (July 13–20, 2026)

Summer Celebration is behind us, but the calendar doesn't slow down — this week brings the season-opening concert at Mercerdale Park, three nights of Shakespeare under the stars at Luther Burbank, and the weekly Farmers Market. Here's what's on for July 13–20.

MOSTLY MUSIC IN THE PARK: HARMONY OF ROCK — Thursday, July 16, 2026 | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM | Mercerdale Park | Free

The free Thursday night concert series opens for the summer with Harmony of Rock playing classic early-'70s rock. Bring a blanket, low-back chairs, and a picnic dinner — there's no outside alcohol, but food trucks are typically on site. No tickets, no RSVP, just show up.

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK: MACBETH — Friday, July 17, Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19, 2026 | 7:00 PM | Luther Burbank Park Amphitheatre, 2040 84th Ave SE | Free

Wooden O Productions' run of Macbeth continues with three shows this week. Seating is first-come, first-seated — arrive a little early with a picnic blanket or low-back chair to claim a good spot. The run wraps up later this month with performances on July 22, 29, and 30.

MERCER ISLAND FARMERS MARKET — Sunday, July 19, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 7700 SE 32nd Street

The market runs rain or shine through October 11, with certified organic produce, artisan food vendors, handcrafted goods, and a different live performer every week.

LOOKING AHEAD — IN A LANDSCAPE, the outdoor piano performance at Luther Burbank Park, lands next Tuesday, July 21 at 6:00 PM. It's a wireless-headphone format that tends to sell out, so grab tickets now at inalandscape.org if you want a spot. Looking further out, Movies in the Park kicks off its summer series with Moana on Monday, July 28 at Mercerdale Park (activities from 8:15 PM, movie at 9:15 PM), and Mostly Music in the Park continues July 23 with a 90's Rewind tribute set.

Whether you're a longtime islander or just getting to know Mercer Island, this is a good week to catch the community out and about. Curious what it's like to live here year-round? I'm always happy to talk.
