Coldwell Banker Danforth — Global Luxury

I'm Michael Nekahi — a professional, organized real estate agent who lives on Mercer Island and has been practicing real estate since 2003. I'm a Seattle native and a University of Washington graduate with a degree in psychology and a concentration in business. Today I run MN Real Estate, brokered by Coldwell Banker Danforth — Global Luxury.

I'm diligent, client-focused, and I listen. I represent both buyers and sellers, and I work tirelessly to exceed expectations on every transaction. Clients hire me for the local knowledge and the negotiation — I have a track record of getting the best possible terms whether you're on the buying or the selling side of the table.

I bring a relatively unusual background to real estate: 25 years as a business owner and entrepreneur before and alongside my real estate career. That experience shapes how I advocate for clients and how I negotiate. I also invest in real estate personally — buying, selling, remodeling, and flipping — and I love sharing that perspective with clients who are thinking about their home as both a place to live and a long-term asset.

I built this site because a great agent should know the community as well as the contract. Beyond listings and market reports, you'll find what's actually happening on the island — festivals, school news, restaurant openings, road projects, and the small details that make Mercer Island feel like home.

How I work with clients

  • Buyers:personalized neighborhood tours, off-market opportunities, and tight coordination with the area's best lenders, inspectors, and contractors.
  • Sellers:a pricing strategy grounded in hyper-local comps, professional staging and photography, and marketing that reaches the buyers who actually want your neighborhood — backed by the global reach of Coldwell Banker's Global Luxury network.
  • Long-term clients: annual home-value check-ins and a network of trusted local trades you can call any time.

Why Mercer Island

Mercer Island is a six-square-mile island community of about 25,700 residents and roughly 9,500 homes, set in the middle of Lake Washington between Seattle and Bellevue. It pairs the quiet of a small town with ten-minute access to two of the region's biggest job centers — and it's anchored by one of Washington's top-ranked public school districts, very low crime, and 475+ acres of parks and waterfront. If you're considering a move here, I'd love to show you why so many of my clients put down roots and never leave.

A little about me

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, traveling, being outdoors, exercising, and working with people. I think those interests make me better at this job — they keep me grounded in what a home is really for. If you're looking for a real estate agent who is personable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping you achieve your real estate goals, I'd love to hear from you.
